Naqvi directed all institutions to further strengthen mutual communication, cooperation and coordination.

The interior minister said the Ministry of Interior’s responsibilities were different and extraordinary compared to other ministries. He directed that newly established institutions, including the Land Port Authority, be provided full support and the required resources.

He said all institutions would have to work together and provide full assistance to one another.

Naqvi directed the heads of all institutions to ensure effective and comprehensive measures for data security and cybersecurity. He also instructed them to submit comprehensive two-year transformation plans for their respective institutions.

The interior minister said the government’s target was to completely transform all institutions of the Ministry of Interior along modern lines. He said every subsidiary institution must become exemplary and public-friendly and ensure the provision of better facilities and quality services to citizens.

Naqvi said institutions should be autonomous and empowered to make decisions themselves, adding that every matter did not need to be referred to the ministry.

He directed officials to immediately submit proposals for necessary amendments and reforms in laws wherever required.

The interior minister said that not a single case of drug smuggling had been reported during last year’s and the current year’s Hajj operations, describing it as clear evidence of improved institutional performance.

Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry said there had previously been a culture of non-performance in federal institutions, but the government had changed this approach. He said all institutions must now work in a target-based, result-oriented and performance-focused manner.

During the meeting, heads of the ministry’s subsidiary institutions said fundamental and positive changes had taken place in the institutions under the leadership of Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi.:
