Leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz Sharif warned on Wednesday that the next two years will provide difficult challenges for the incoming administration.

He claimed that, in light of Pakistan’s current situation, his brother Shehbaz is the most qualified applicant for the position of prime minister.

The three-time prime minister praised Shehbaz Sharif’s work as prime minister during the Pakistan Democratic Movement’s (PDM) term, speaking during the party’s parliamentary session in Islamabad.

Nawaz Sharif commended Shehbaz for keeping the nation from going into default, calling his measures “unprecedented,” and he voiced optimism that Pakistan will overcome its current problems in a year or two.

Nawaz Sharif identified inflation as a key problem while acknowledging Pakistan’s dire situation. He emphasised the need to reduce government obligations and stabilise the price of petrol and energy.

Nawaz Sharif formally declared Shehbaz Sharif the front-runner for prime minister in the current circumstances. Additionally, he said that Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, the head of the party, will run for speaker of the National Assembly.

To confront the nation’s dilemma, Nawaz Sharif asked all political parties to work together on a shared agenda. He underlined the value of engaging in politics while defending Pakistan’s rights and democratic structure.

Nawaz Sharif emphasised that, in spite of PTI demonstrations during his previous term, the federal government headed by the PML-N remained dedicated to serving the nation and keeping its word to the people.

Nawaz Sharif condemned the cases brought against him, blaming his ouster from power on unfair deeds that eventually hurt Pakistan.
