Nawaz Sharif calls Fazlur Rehman to talk about unity in government.

Pakistan Muslim League: The ultimate Nawaz On Monday, Nawaz Sharif spoke with Mualana Fazlur Rehman, the head of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl, over the phone about issues pertaining to the creation of a unity government.

A divided mandate resulted from the 2024 general elections as no political party could establish a government on its own.

The topics of discussion between the two leaders were the establishment of a unity government in Pakistan. According to the sources, Nawaz Sharif and Fazlur Rehman’s meeting is anticipated to happen over the next two days.

The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) spoke about a “power-sharing formula” earlier on Sunday that would divide the prime minister’s term between the two parties for the ensuing five years.

When the PML-N team led by Shehbaz Sharif arrived to the PPP headquarters in Lahore, Asif Ali Zardari, Bilawal Bhutto, and other PPP officials welcomed them.

According to those with knowledge of the developments, there was a proposition made during the conference that the PPP and the PML-N might each nominate their nominee to serve as prime minister for 2.5 years.

According to the proposal, sources stated, “one party’s nominee would be the prime minister for the first two and a half years while another party’s nominated member could get the prime minister slot for the next two and a half years.”
