The National Assembly meeting was called to order on April 1 by President Asif Ali Zardari.
The president has used the authority granted to him by Article 54(1) of the Constitution to call the assembly session. The President called the assembly meeting to order at 4 p.m. (afternoon) on April 1st, Monday, in Parliament House.
The 16th National Assembly of the nation will have its second session this year.
A planned meeting of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly was postponed earlier on Friday because government representatives were not present.
