Over the next two days, PDMA predicts rain in the majority of Punjab districts.
In light of the fact that the Punjab Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has forecasted that rainfall will occur in the majority of the province’s districts over the next two days, it has issued a warning to the local administrations to get ready for any disaster that may be caused by the weather.
According to a spokeswoman for the Pakistan Development and Management Authority (PDMA), rain is expected to fall in the following cities: Lahore, Rawalpindi, Murree, Galiyat, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Wazirabad, Faisalabad, Khushab, and Sargodha. Other districts, including Sahiwal, Sheikhupura, Sialkot, Narowal, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Nankana Sahib, and Chiniot, are also expected to see showers.
Rain is also expected to fall in the following locations: Chiniot, Okara, Kasur, Noorpur Thal, Bhakkar, Mianwali, Layyah, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Dera Ghazi Khan, Multan, Khanewal, Lodhran, Muzaffargarh, Kot Addu, Rahim Yar Khan, and Rajanpur.
PDMA Director General Umar Javed issued a statement to the media in which he stated that all commissioners and deputy commissioners throughout the province of Punjab have been placed on high alert about the directions issued by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. According to him, rain might potentially increase the flow in rivers and streams.
He urged the people to remain in secure locations during thunderstorms, to keep away from open areas when lightning strikes, to take precautions against dust storms and strong winds, and to be cautious when traveling to northern regions.
