Pakistan, Egypt agree to strengthen cooperation in security, counter-terrorism

A delegation from Egypt’s Ministry of Interior, led by Major General Magdy Hilal, had talks with Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Minister of State Talal Chaudhry on enhancing bilateral collaboration.

The Egyptian delegation included Brigadier Essam Abu Al-Khair, Brigadier Engineer Muhammad Razi and Brigadier Dr. Muhammad Munir.

During the discussion, both sides agreed to deepen cooperation in the areas of security, counter-terrorism, counter-narcotics, cybercrime and Safe City projects.

They also agreed to encourage cooperative training for officers between the National Police Academy of Pakistan and the Police Academy of Egypt.

Minister Naqvi said the visit will offer new possibilities for bilateral collaboration and underscored the need for real steps to promote Pakistan-Egypt relations. He said a Pakistani delegation would visit Egypt shortly to explore more potential in areas of mutual interest.

“Cooperation in counter-terrorism, counter-narcotics and internal security has wide-ranging benefits for both countries,” said Minister of State Talal Chaudhry. The Egyptian.

Delegation praised visits to Pakistan’s Anti-Narcotics Force and National Police Academy, stressing that mutual learning might improve performance in numerous areas.
The conference was also attended by Secretary of Interior and other key authorities.
