The Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) revealed that there has been a 12.78% increase in earnings from service provision, amounting to US $1,724.969 million, compared to the equivalent months of the previous fiscal year 2022–23.
Over the course of the reviewed months, the export of computer services experienced a growth rate of 14.09%, increasing from US $1,224.499 million in the previous year to US $1,397.051 million during the period of July–January 2023–24.
The export of software consulting services increased by 1.14%, from US $3.502 million to US $3.542 million this year. Similarly, the export of hardware consultancy services also saw a jump of 4.73%, from US $454.283 million to US $475.783 million.
The export of repair and maintenance services declined by 12.17%, from US $1.594 million to US $1.400 million. In contrast, the export and import of computer software services increased by 2.71%, from $349.635 million to $359.094 million.
During the specified period, there was a significant decrease of 19.62 percent in the export of information services, dropping from US $2.600 million to US $2.090 million.
The exports of information-related services climbed by 1.99%, from US$0.804 million to US$0.820 million. However, the exports of news agency services declined by 29.29%, from US $1.796 million to US $1.270 million.
According to the data, the export of telecommunication services grew by 7.69%, rising from US $297.870 million to US $320.780 million.
The export of call center services in the telecommunications industry increased by 18.95% during the specified period, rising from US $121.349 million to US $144.350 million. Conversely, the export of other telecommunications services experienced a slight decrease of 0.05%, dropping from US $176.521 million to US $176.430 million. This information was revealed by the PBS data.
