The decision will be made, per the source, to guarantee cost-cutting initiatives and streamline medical services.
There would be a large workforce decrease as a result of the merger between the Islamabad Blood Transfusion Authority and the Human Organ Transplant Authority under the Islamabad Healthcare Regulatory Authority, according to sources.
The Ministry of States and Frontier Regions (SAFRON) was dissolved by the Pakistani government earlier today.
On the advice of the Rightsizing Committee, the SAFRON ministry will be combined with the Ministry of Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan (GB).
In order to determine the future of Jammu & Kashmir State Properties, a special committee will be established and the administrative branch of the Ministry of SAFRON will be dissolved.
According to sources, state properties would be sold when necessary, with the proceeds going for GB and Azad Kashmir’s welfare.
In addition, a review of the Directorate of Health Services (DHS) in both Kashmir and GB is planned, with the aim of handing over management to the government of Azad Kashmir.
According to the sources, DHS financing for GB will be controlled in coordination with the Ministry of Health.
There will also be staff reductions in the Chief Commissioner’s Office for Afghan Refugees, the Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir Councils, and the Jammu and Kashmir Refugee Rehabilitation Organization.
