On Tuesday, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz announced the establishment of Pakistan’s first IT city in Lahore.
She made the announcement while chairing the third cabinet meeting on Tuesday. The conference was also attended by provincial ministers, the chief secretary, and the Inspector General.
During the meeting, the chief minister approved annual and additional budget grants for 2023-24.
The chief minister also ordered that the Punjab Central Business District Authority take over the Lahore Knowledge Park.
Speaking at the event, she stated that IT City would be completed within a year. All of the world’s great universities would be asked to create campuses, she continued.
The chief minister also approved an initiative to give 20,000 electric bikes to schoolchildren in installments. The distribution of motorcycles would begin in May of this year.
She also emphasised the importance of commencing the air ambulance project on a trial basis in order to aid patients living in rural areas of the province.
