During their meeting on the fringes of the UN General Assembly, Maldivian President Dr. Muhammad Muizzu and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif decided to boost people-to-people interactions and bilateral collaboration.
Since taking office as leaders of their respective nations, it was the first time the two had met.
Both presidents emphasised throughout the meeting the close connections that exist between Pakistan and the Maldives.
The Prime Minister reiterated Pakistan’s resolve to strengthen ties with the Maldives in the areas of investment, trade, tourism, education, and climate change mitigation.
Both presidents concurred that in order to support economic growth and sustainable development in their respective nations, there is a need for more interpersonal interactions and cooperative efforts.
