PM Shehbaz, President Zardari pay tributes to deceased Group Captain Asim Tariq
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Asif Ali Zardari on Monday expressed deep sadness over the death of Group Captain Asim Tariq who sacrificed his life in an attempt to protect a woman in the federal capital.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif paid tribute to the fallen officer, stating in a statement that Group Captain Asim Tariq exhibited outstanding courage, bravery and devotion to duty by losing his life while preserving the life and dignity of another person.
The prime minister said the country will always remember and respect the sacrifices of such heroic sons of the country. He also conveyed profound condolences to the departed family and said that the entire nation stood with them in their sadness.
Shehbaz Sharif prayed for the departed soul and begged Allah Almighty to raise the martyr’s ranks, blessed him with the greatest place in His mercy and gave patience and strength to the family to endure the loss.
The prime minister also instructed the necessary departments to do a full and transparent inquiry into the incident and guarantee that the perpetrators are brought to justice within the law.
Separately, President Asif Ali Zardari also expressed deep grief over the martyrdom of Group Captain Asim Tariq who was slain in the line of duty while trying to save an innocent woman.
The president praised the sacrifice of the officer as a bright example of heroism, national service and strong human values. He prayed for the family of the martyr to be given strength and patience.
The attack on a busy road in Islamabad was a subject of severe concern, said President Zardari, adding that such crimes should be eliminated by rigorous enforcement of law.
