In Islamabad, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif chaired a high-level discussion over the Federal Board of Revenue’s reorganization and the privatization of PIA.
He underlined the need of maintaining openness during the National Airline’s privatization process and made it clear that negligence and laziness in this respect will not be accepted.
Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar, the previous caretaker prime minister, gave the relevant authorities instructions earlier this year to hasten PIA’s privatization, the national flag career.
The prime minister placed emphasis on maintaining openness in the privatization process at a meeting with Air Marshal (retd) Farhat Hussain, his adviser on aviation.
According to Prime Minister Kakar, the government’s top objective is to privatize state-owned businesses in order to prevent more financial losses for the national exchequer.
He said that there was a lot of room for investment expansion in the nation’s aviation sector.
To guarantee better services, the prime minister oversaw the outsourcing of airport operations as well.
PM Kakar received a briefing on ministry affairs and the reform process from the Aviation Adviser.
