PM Shehbaz Sharif forms a 19-person education task panel.

The task team was presided over by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and included important officials as well as representatives from numerous national and international organizations.

The Ministers of Information and Broadcasting, IT, and Telecom, and Education and Vocational Training are among the task force’s most important members.

The task force’s coordinator will be the federal secretary, and its members will also include secretaries and ministers of provincial education.

The co-convener will be the World Bank country chief. Representatives from the World Food Program, JICA, UNESCO, UNICEF, Commonwealth and Development Office, and Asian Development Bank are among the additional members.

Notable local members include LUMS Vice Chancellor Ali Cheema, Dean of the LUMS School of Education Dr. Faisal Bari, Country Director of the Malala Fund Javed Malik, CEO Shakeel Durrani of GIK Institute, Syed Asad Ayub of the Citizen Foundation, and Chairman of the Pakistan Education Endowment Fund Amjad Saqib.

With an emphasis on enhancing the educational system, eliminating obstacles to reaching literacy goals, and guaranteeing the education of disadvantaged children, the task force is tasked with making suggestions for educational initiatives on an as-needed basis. A key component of its work will be formulating policies for public schools and making choices to improve the standard and advancement of education.
