PMD forecasts likely rain in areas of country starting today

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has expected rain, thunderstorms and gusty winds in different parts of the nation for the next 24 hours.

The Met department has predicted rain in several parts of Punjab including the federal capital starting Monday (today).
Rains are anticipated in Islamabad and parts of Kashmir with heavy gusts and thunderstorms in places.

Heavy rain is also expected elsewhere in portions of Bhakkar, Dera Ghazi Khan, Khushab and Mianwali. Rain is forecast in Attock, Bahawalnagar, Chakwal, Chiniot, Faisalabad, Gujranwala and Gujrat.

Other cities in Punjab that may also get rain include Sargodha, Hafizabad, Jhang, Jhelum and Lahore.

Upper catchment areas of Ravi and Sutlej rivers are likely to see rain, strong gusts and thundershowers and heavy rain at some spots.

Heavy rain is forecast at some spots in Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan, Karak, Lakki Marwat and Tank of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Rain is also expected in parts of Gilgit-Baltistan.

Meanwhile, most parts of Sindh are likely to be hot and dry. Balochistan, too, will have similar weather outlook.

The PMD said that hot and humid weather is anticipated to persist across southern and plain portions of the country in the coming days while rain and thundershowers may occur at select places in upper and central areas.
