The districts in which the poliovirus was detected in the environmental samples were: Mirpur Khas, Chaman (Army Kaziba and Hadi Packet), Quetta (Railway Pul), Keamari, Karachi (Orangi Nalla), Jamshoro (Drain KB Feeder), Hyderabad (Tulsidas Pumping Station and Latifabad 9 Pumping Station), Keamari, Chaman (Orangi Nalla), Sukkur (Maka Pumping Station), Jacobabad (Saddar Pumping Station), Mirpur Khas, Chaman (Army Kaziba and Hadi Packet), Lashkare, and Nasirabad (Wapda Colony).
The first positive sample from District Karachi West this year was taken on April 02, 2024, at the “Khamiso Goth” environmental sample collection site in Karachi West.
Similarly, the first positive sample from District Mirpur Khas this year was taken on April 02, 2024 in Mirpur Khas at the “Ring Road Puraan” environmental sample collection location.
