President grants Tamgha-e-Shujaat to PIMS nurse who rescued child in fire emergency.

President Asif Ali Zardari has granted the Tamgha-e-Shujaat to Razia Noreen, a staff nurse at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), for her courage shown during a fire incident at the hospital.
An official statement revealed that Razia Noreen endangered her own life during the fire to successfully save the sole child who survived the incident, ensuring the child was brought to safety.
The choice acknowledges the nurse’s brave efforts during the crisis at PIMS.
The Tamgha-e-Shujaat is conferred to recognize her bravery and commitment in fulfilling her duties amidst the emergency.
The president also authorized several summaries submitted for review.
The authorized summaries comprised the National Institute of Folk and Traditional Heritage (Lok Virsa) Amendment Bill 2026 and the Standard Time (Interpretation of References) Amendment Bill 2026.
The approvals additionally encompass a modification to the Table of Organization and Equipment of the Armed Forces Institute of Urology (AFIU) located in Rawalpindi.
Another authorized action pertains to the eco-friendly handling of dangerous substances found on vessels. The legislation is called Bill 2026 and focuses on the responsible management of hazardous materials on ships in an environmentally sound way.
