Five Presiding Officers have been designated by the Pakistani Election Commission to oversee the presidential elections in Islamabad and the four provincial capitals.
A spokeswoman for the ECP stated that during the planned polling for the presidential election, these officials will accept nomination papers from candidates and preside over Parliamentary sessions in Parliament House in Islamabad and the Provincial Assembly of the relevant Province.
The announcement states that the Chief Justice of the Islamabad High Court would preside over the Senate and National Assembly elections in Islamabad.
Punjab Provincial Assembly polling will be overseen by Election Commission-1 member of the Pakistani Election Commission.
In a similar vein, the Chief Justice of the Peshawar High Court will oversee the elections for the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Provincial Assembly.
The Balochistan High Court Chief Justice will preside over the presidential election in the Provincial Assembly of Quetta.
