PTI chairman expresses concern over Imran Khan’s health
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan has expressed deep concern over reports regarding party founder Imran Khan’s health and said the news is not encouraging.
Speaking to the media in Islamabad, Gohar said a petition has been filed seeking implementation of the August 18 Supreme Court order. He said the party requested the court to schedule an early hearing to resolve the matter.
He said a meeting with Imran Khan took place and Salman Safdar returned after meeting the former prime minister. Gohar added that the party had received instructions regarding Imran Khan’s health and stressed that there should be no compromise on his medical well-being.
The PTI chairman said the party wants the Supreme Court’s August 18 judgment to be implemented. He added that the party’s long march had ended and the provincial government had also gone.
Gohar called for an end to the arrest and detention of party leaders and workers and demanded the immediate release of Imran Khan’s sisters. He said further escalation of political tensions in the country cannot be allowed and the situation must be brought to an end.
