PTI lodges contempt petition against Imran Khan’s hospital shift

— Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has filed a contempt of court petition in the Supreme Court for alleged breach of a judicial order over the transfer of the party founder Imran Khan to a hospital.

The petition demands start of contempt proceedings over alleged breach of the Supreme Court’s judgement of August 18, 2026 concerning hospital transfer of Imran Khan.

PTI has sought show-cause notices to the respondents and individuals accused of contempt from the Supreme Court and has sought directions to them to appear in person before the court.

The party has also sought that the court hold the respondents guilty of contempt of court and punish them as per law.

The petition further demands urgent shifting of Imran Khan to Shifa International Hospital Islamabad and his medical assessment at the hospital.

PTI has also demanded appointment of a judicial officer or a local commission to ensure execution of the court’s judgement.

On behalf of the PTI, the contempt petition had been filed by Uzair Bhandari and Salman Akram Raja.

The hearing of the case relating to the matter was rescheduled to September 16 by the Supreme Court.
