According to officials in the School Education Department, Punjab has implemented a new teacher transfer policy.
As per the recently adopted policy by Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat, teachers will be able to petition for transfers at any time of the year based on hardship reasons such long-distance conditions, disability, widowhood, or divorce.
In accordance with the policy’s specifics, wedlock and inter-district transfers will always be available, while general and mutual transfers will only be granted twice a year.
The new policy mandates that all district committees make decisions on applications within 30 days and that all promotions be completed within the same time range.
