For customers traveling during the forthcoming Eid-ul-Azha celebrations, Pakistan Railways has provided a generous 25% fee cut.
The discount would be available on all Pakistan Railways regular passenger train classes.
The goal of the fare reduction program is to make it easier for people to celebrate Eid with their loved ones by encouraging accessible and reasonably priced rail travel around the nation. Nevertheless, the discounted rate will not be valid for the exclusive Eid trains, which might run throughout the festive season.
Passengers will have the chance to purchase their train tickets at a discounted price because the discount is only available for existing reservations. Additionally, all three days of Eid-ul-Azha will have the discounted fares available.
“As part of our commitment to serving the people of Pakistan, we are delighted to announce this significant fare reduction,” a Pakistan Railways spokeswoman said. “By making rail travel more accessible and affordable, we hope to contribute to the joy and celebration of Eid for our passengers.”
A considerable decrease in train rates for all classes was announced earlier on May 21 by the Railways Department due to the drop in diesel costs. As soon as the official notification of the fare cut was released, it went into effect.
For all rail classes, the fee decrease was applicable to trips between one and two hundred kilometers, which helped passengers who were traveling lesser distances. In the economy and AC classes, the biggest cuts were observed.
