Gilgit-Baltistan (EGB) Election Commission has ordered re-polling in a women polling station in constituency GBA-15 after voting was declared void due to unrest in Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly elections.

As per an official announcement, many registered voters at the Loshi Thak women’s polling station were unable to cast their ballots due to stone-pelting, gunshots and a deteriorating law-and-order situation that disrupted polling.

Although roughly 200 votes were cast, a considerable number of voters were unable to exercise their right to vote, the commission added. Polling staff were subsequently removed from the station under security protection.

Re-voting will be held at the Loshi Thak women’s polling station on June 15, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. without any interruption.

The Election Commission said all essential steps would be taken to ensure transparent, fair and lawful polling and that the Returning Officer for GBA-15 will personally supervise the proceedings.

Meanwhile, the official results of the Gilgit-Baltistan elections for 22 constituencies have been declared. The Pakistan Peoples Party was the biggest party with 10 seats while Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz took four seats. Independent candidates won seven seats and Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen won one seat. Results for GBA-13 and GBA-14 in Astore are still withheld.
