After all ordinary ballots printed nationwide have been completed, the reprinting of ballots in constituencies that require it will begin.
At an urgent meeting on the topic convened in Islamabad, the Election Commission of Pakistan made this decision.
The Commission also stated that the capacity of the printing presses, time, and availability of special security paper all play a role in the decision to reprint ballots.
It was stated that in the event that special security paper was not available in the necessary number, the Commission would be left with no choice except to postpone the election in such constituencies.
The panel also acknowledged that timely reproduction of vote papers in certain constituencies and the availability of special security paper had grown to be significant challenges.
It was brought to the meeting’s attention that, in comparison to other elections in 2018, three times as much special security paper is presently required for the next general election.
