In regards to the issue of election tribunal constitution, the Supreme Court has overturned the June 12 ruling of the Lahore High Court’s single bench and approved the Election Commission’s reconsideration.
Chief Justice Faez Isa led the five-member Supreme Court bench that rendered the decision. Additional remarks were written by Justice Aqeel Abasi and Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhail.
The Supreme Court stated in its ruling that the Lahore High Court’s decision could not be used as a precedent in the future.
