Security forces are on the lookout for drug traffickers as part of a nationwide anti-drug crackdown.

The Government of Pakistan and the Military Leadership have initiated a crackdown on drug traffickers in an effort to eradicate the drug problem that has plagued the country.

Since the beginning of the operation in September 2023, the authorities have arrested 1,761 drug dealers with a total of 1,047.76 metric tons of drugs that have been seized.

As of this moment, a total of 48.71 metric tons of hashish and 3.58 metric tons of heroin had been retrieved. On top of that, the security forces have seized 984.74 metric tons of various drugs, as well as 3.75 metric tons of methamphetamine, 8.99 metric tons of opium, and other substances.

The State Security Forces were able to seize a total of 59.9 kilograms of drugs in the province of Balochistan, 3.97 kilograms in the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 47.227 kilograms in the province of Gilgit-Baltistan, 117.189 kilograms in the province of Punjab, and 75.94 kilograms in the province of Sindh.
