Sharjeel Memon accuses MQM leaders of creating division in Sindh
Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon has sharply objected to a recent press conference by MQM leaders and called the language used by the party’s leadership “intolerable.”
Memon said in a statement that the MQM was trying to generate disturbance and rekindle what he called the politics of the 1990s.
“Mustafa Kamal and Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui are on the same path of politics as MQM leaders,” he stated.
Memon further said that MQM was involved in kidnapping for ransom, targeted assassinations, extortion and arson in Karachi in the 1990s.
He said a resolution in this regard had already been passed by the Sindh Assembly to state its opinion on issue of additional provinces.
The senior minister said that MQM was trying to sow division and enmity on linguistic basis by inciting disturbance.
The bulk of the Urdu-speaking people of Sindh regarded themselves Sindhi and accused the party of seeking to divide communities all over again, he said.
“The Sindh government will not allow any attempt to destabilize the province and create conflict,” Memon stated.
