Sharjeel Memon criticises PTI for ‘agitation politics’
Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Memon said that Islamabad was essentially ‘under siege’ due to operations by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and urged political parties to show accountability.
Memon told the reporters in Karachi that the government spent millions of rupees installing the containers and later removing them amid protests. Political parties should behave responsibly, he said. Members of his own leadership had also been arrested in the past but they did not take similar actions, he said.
The Sindh minister also said that the development work going on in Karachi and construction on University Road was almost complete. He remarked that the Meteorological Flypast was launched and appreciated the project team for finishing the job at a fast speed.
The issues faced by citizens in terms of travel on University Road have been resolved, said Memon.
“Work on the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project was also progressing with stations and other related infrastructure being completed rapidly, he added.
