Sharjeel Memon says federal ministers influenced AJK elections

— Sindh senior minister Sharjeel Inam Memon has accused the federal ministers of toying with the election process in Azad Kashmir polls.

“Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) will not tolerate any kind of rigging in the elections in Azad Kashmir,” Sharjeel Memon told the media here on Sunday.

He argued that the election commission has willfully disregarded pre-poll tampering.

A day before polls, busses are brought to Kashmir, trying to influence the people, PPP leader claimed. “The people of Kashmir cannot be fooled by these buses worth Rs200 million.”

He asked the PML-N to clarify whether Khawaja Asif’s recent comment was party policy or his personal view.

The PML-N came to power in Punjab from a back door and the Kashmiri people will similarly fight such elements, he alleged.

“Pakistan Peoples Party was the only party which could unite the federation while the Election Commission in Azad Kashmir had turned a blind eye,” claimed Sharjeel Memon.

He charged that the federal ministers have established camps in Kashmir during the election campaign and stated that this is an effort to influence the voting process.
