In preparation for the National Assembly session, the MQM-P and the PML-N have already held many rounds of talks on government formation at the Centre.
Meanwhile, the PPP and PML-N agreed on a “power-sharing formula,” according to which the party led by Bilawal Bhutto will hold the majority of the constitutional offices.
According to sources who spoke with ARY News, the PPP would not join the federal cabinet; instead, the Bilawal-led party will name the Senate Chairman and the governors of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
In today’s meeting, PPP and PML-N decided to send their governor to Sindh, but MQM-P had demanded that Kamran Tessori stay on as part of the suggested power-sharing plan.
The names of Senator Khushbakht Shujaat and the PPP have been submitted for the position of Sindh Governor. The two political parties were cited as stating, “Khussbakht Shujaat should become the governor if our candidate won’t be in the race.”
Prior to this, the MQM-P and PML-N “reaffirmed” their resolve to prioritise national interests over short-term political gains.
During a meeting with PML-N President and prime minister-designate Shehbaz Sharif, the MQM-P delegation made the assertion.
The topic of discussion was the nation’s current situation and possible avenues for political cooperation. “Respecting the vote means respecting the mandate of all parties,” Shehbaz Sharif declared, commending the MQM-P for their constructive approach. It is our joint duty to steer the country through its economic challenges.”
Shehbaz Sharif’s inclusive leadership throughout his 16-month tenure as prime minister was commended by the MQM-P delegation. “We hope that Pakistan and its people will overcome their challenges under his stewardship,” they declared.
Moreover, there were rumours that the PML-N would win the positions of governor of Sindh and Balochistan as well as speaker of the National Assembly (NA).
