Six injured in gas blast at Rawalpindi house
RAWALPINDI: A large bomb rocked a house in Rawalpindi causing massive destruction and a fire that injured at least six persons, a report stated.
Rescue 1122 claimed a major rupture had place in Afandi Colony at a house due to accumulation of gas.
An explosion injured six people and set parts of the house on fire. Rescue 1122 official claimed the explosion had caused a lot of damage to the building’s structure.
When informed of the tragedy, rescue workers were immediately rushed to the area and an emergency operation was launched. Firefighters managed to bring the incident under control and rescue teams evacuated all the injured to a local hospital for treatment.
The explosion was first thought to have been caused by a gas leak. The bomb was so violent it seriously damaged the property, rescue sources said. They claimed the area had been cleaned after the rescue effort, and the injured were being treated in hospital.
