Six soldiers martyred as security forces foil terrorists’ bid to enter military compound in Tank: ISPR

RAWALPINDI: Six soldiers were martyred after security forces foiled three terrorists attempt to enter a military compound in the Dera Ismail Khan’s Tank area, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Wednesday.

In a statement, the ISPR said the security forces, during the encounter, responded in an efficient manner, encircled and killed the three terrorists — thereby foiling the attempt to enter the military compound.

The military’s media wing identified the martyred soldiers as:

  • Subedar Major Sher Muhammad, 48, resident of Naushero Feroz
  • Naib Subedar Zubaid, 39, resident of Khairpur
  • Havildar Sohail, 39, resident of Rawalpindi
  • Lance Naik Ghulam All, 36, resident of Tando Allahyar
  • Sepoy Maskeen Ali, 32, resident of Khairpur
  • Sepoy Mir Muhammad, 37, resident of Sukkur

Despite the incident, the Pakistan Army is determined to eliminate the menace of terrorism and such sacrifices of our brave soldiers further strengthen our resolve, the ISPR added.

Hours earlier the ISPR had said that on March 29 two soldiers embraced martyrdom during an exchange of fire between security forces and terrorists in Makin, South Waziristan.

A brief statement issued by the military’s media wing said that “an intense exchange of fire took place between the security forces and terrorists,” to which the Pakistani troops responded in a befitting manner.

As a result, four terrorists were killed, while Captain Saad Bin Amir, 25, and Lance Naik Riaz, 37, were martyred fighting gallantly.

Federal Cabinet Meeting: Forum Accepts Suggestion Regarding Foreign Pilots’ License Validation

The suggestion of the Cabinet Division to prolong the validity of licenses for 86 foreign pilots currently employed in Pakistan by two years has been accepted by the Federal Cabinet.
Additionally, it approved a three-year extension of the foreign validation for the new pilots who joined in 2025.
During the meeting, the prime minister was informed that Pakistani Airlines had to hire pilots from overseas because of the COVID-19 pandemic and restrictions on Pakistani pilots in prior years.
After the full legal process, the cabinet division’s aforementioned proposal would be put into effect.
In order to increase system transparency, the Prime Minister established a committee led by Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif to examine the Toshakhana Act 2024.
Based on the suggestions made by the Cabinet Division, the Cabinet approved the rules and regulations pertaining to the appointment of the chairman and members of the National Seed Development and Regulatory Authority.
Additionally, it approved a change to the 1973 Rules of Business that transferred responsibility for the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act from the Ministry of it to the Ministry of Interior, as suggested by the Cabinet division.
On advice from the Ministry of Law and Justice, the Cabinet approved Dr. Ammar Habib Khan’s appointment as member Finance of the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority appeal panel.
The Federal Cabinet gave its approval to the ruling.

The International Cricket Council has given a strong message to the Indian board on this, according to Indian NDTV.

As part of its host nation policy, the Indian board claimed that it was not interested in having Pakistan’s name appear on their team uniform. However, the ICC rejected this claim.

In reality, the ICC has urged the Indian board to clarify that, since the country was the tournament’s original host, the Indian squad must have “Pakistan” printed on their uniform.

The majority of the country is anticipated to have cold, dry weather during the next 24 hours, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD). However, hilly regions of Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and northwest Balochistan are forecast to see rain and snowfall.
