In response to the UK and EU’s calling attention notice regarding the ban on Pakistani Airlines flights, he stated, “A comprehensive action plan from Pakistan has been forwarded to the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and the verification process is presently in progress.”

“We anticipate that the verification process will be finished in two to three months, at which point flights to Europe will resume,” he stated.

On May 14, the European Commission Air Safety Commission removed Pakistan from its list of countries of concern, according to the minister, who called this a significant milestone.

Previous reports stated that the European Air Safety Committee is scheduled to provide its approval for the extension of the Third Country Operators’ Permits for PIA and Vision Air flights the following month.

The decision on Pakistan International Airlines’ (PIA) flight ban in Europe was sent to the European Air Safety Committee by the European Commission and the European Aviation Safety Agency (IASA).

Other Pakistani airlines are not subject to any limitations in European nations, according to Deborah Almerge, a spokesperson for the European Commission.

She went on to say that the prohibition on PIA and Air Vision was brought about by safety concerns pertaining to the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority, not because they were added to the European Air Safety List.

It is important to note that all Pakistani airlines were prohibited from operating in Europe in July 2020 as a result of the pilots’ licensing crisis.
