Strong winds and a lot of rain Authorities in Lahore issue a safety notice
Lahore has received rain in many areas like Nishtar Town, Johar Town, Gulberg, Lawrence Road, Mazang, Mall Road, Lakshmi Chowk and Nabha Road, making the weather comfortable in the city.
“The rainfall statistics showed that Farrukhabad had the maximum rainfall of 18.2 mm followed by Saggian (17.4 mm), Tajpura (14.6 mm) and Pani Wala Tala in the Walled City (12.4 mm).
Lahore Commissioner Nauman Yousaf has directed the teams of WASA, Metropolitan Corporation Lahore (MCL) and Lahore Development Authority (LDA) to stay on the field. He also ordered all Assistant Commissioners to personally supervise drainage operations in their respective tehsils, ensure important roads and underpasses are kept free and keep the Central Business District (CBD) and Ravi Urban Development Authority (RUDA) personnel on high alert.
The commissioner of Lahore further directed that the disposal stations in the regions where power shortages were reported should immediately be converted to generators and all the pumping stations should operate on full capacity. WASA Town Directors have also been urged to keep a watch on the issue.
