Ashok Kumar, 85, lived with his dog in the Nangli Dairy area of Nazafgarh. The teenager had first reportedly thrashed the man’s dog a week ago. He was frustrated by the dog’s constant barking.
As an argument started between the two, the boy attacked the old dog-owner with an iron rod.
Meena, Kumar’s wife, informed the police that her husband was trying to protect the dog from the angry teenager.
As a result of the hit, Kumar fell unconscious and had to be taken to the hospital. He passed away on Sunday, police said.
Meena registered a case of murder against the teenager. He is being traced by the police.
