The federal government approves a 50% increase in conveyance allowance and incorporates ad hoc allowances into basic pay.
The federal government decided to combine two ad hoc allowances into the basic pay structure and proposed relief measures for government workers.
The Ministry of Finance claims that the base pay now includes the ad hoc relief allowances that were granted in 2022 and 2025. The basic wage now includes both the 10% ad hoc allowance from 2025 and the 15% ad hoc relief allowance from 2022.
According to officials, the action will raise government employees’ base pay, which will have an impact on various benefits and allowances associated with basic pay.
In an effort to provide more financial assistance for transport costs, the government has also authorised a 50% increase in the conveyance allowance for public sector workers.
According to government sources, these steps have been made to lessen employees’ total financial load and shield them from the effects of inflation.
