The funeral of Lt Col Khalid Hussain was conducted in Rawalpindi with full honours.

The funeral prayer for Lieutenant Colonel Khalid Hussain Shaheed was conducted at Chaklala Garrison in Rawalpindi on Wednesday.

He accepted martyrdom yesterday after incurring wounded while commanding his troops and engaging courageously in an intelligence-driven operation against Indian-backed militants in Balochistan.

The funeral prayer was attended by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Federal Ministers of Interior and Information, prominent active and retired civil and military officials, family, and a substantial number of civilians.

The prime minister honoured the martyred soldier by commending Lieutenant Colonel Khalid Hussain’s remarkable bravery, dedication, and unwavering commitment to the defence of the nation.

He reiterated that Pakistan’s Armed Forces, with the complete backing of the nation, are resolute in eradicating terrorism and its enablers from the country.

The Prime Minister emphasised that the sacrifices of martyrs such as Khalid Hussain fortify national determination and highlight Pakistan’s dedication to peace, stability, and sovereignty.

The Shaheed will be interred in his hometown with complete military honours.

Both the Pakistan Armed Forces and the populace have rendered solemn respect to the martyr and extended deep condolences to the bereaved family.
