An important development in the province’s governance system has been the finalization of the portfolio distribution among ministers and advisors by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cabinet.
An official notification from the Peshawar province administration states that Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif has been appointed as the Information Advisor.
Arshad Ayub will be in charge of the Municipalities Department, while Shakeel will be in charge of the Department of Communication and Works, among other important appointments. Fazl Hakeem takes on the position of Minister for Wildlife, Forests, and Climate Change, while Aqibullah leads the Department of Irrigation. The new head of the Department of Hajj, Awqaf, and Religious Affairs is Adnan Qadri.
Meena Khan Afridi for Higher Education, Ali Shah for the Health Department, and Muhammad Sajjad for Agriculture are among the other noteworthy appointments. Aftab Alam will be in charge of law, parliamentary affairs, and human rights; Pakhtun Yar will concentrate on public health; and Nazir Ahmed Abbasi would be in charge of revenue. Zahir Shah will oversee the Food Department, Faisal Tarkai will oversee Elementary Education, and Khaleeq-ur-Rehman will oversee Excise and Taxation.
A number of advisers and special aides have been assigned to various ministries in addition to ministers. Zahid Chanzeb will advise on tourism and culture, Mashaal Azam on women’s empowerment, zakat, and social welfare, and Syed Fakhr Khan on sports and youth affairs.
As Special Assistant to the Chief Minister for Science and Technology, Abdul Karim Khan for Industry, Commerce, and Technical Education, and Liaquat Ali Khan for Population Welfare, Khalid Latif has been appointed. As Special Assistants to the Chief Minister for Housing and Finance Advisor, respectively, Amjad Ali and Muzamil Aslam will support the welfare and development goals of the province.
