The KP government cancels the Chitral matriculation test papers because of the excessive rains.

The decision to call off the Chitral matric exams was made during a meeting chaired by KP Education Minister Faisal Khan Tarakai in Peshawar.

It was determined at the conference to use the revised schedule to take the cancelled matric test papers.

It is important to note that in the last four days, severe rains have caused havoc in the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, resulting in at least 21 deaths in separate events, according to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA).

The official agency reports that thirty-two individuals were injured and that nine women and three children were among the dead.

Additionally, rain caused 53 houses to be destroyed and another 277 to be partially damaged in as many as 330 occurrences of roof and wall collapse that were reported in different districts throughout the province.

Meanwhile, rain is expected to lash Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajanpur, Bhakkar, Layyah, Multan, Kot Addu, Muzaffargarh, Rahim Yar Khan, Sadiqabad, Khanpur, Bahawalpur, and Bahawalnagar between April 18 and April 20, with sporadic breaks. This is according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).

From April 17 to April 21, the Met Office predicted rain, thunderstorms (a few strong, with a few isolated very heavy rainfall), and snowfall over high ranges in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Haripur, Kohistan, Shangla, Buner, and Malakand.
