The Lahore High Court has heard a challenge to the recent price rise of fuel products.

Azhar Siddique, the head of the Judicial Activism Panel, filed the miscellaneous petition, claiming that Pakistan now has the highest prices for fuel and diesel in the area and that the Petroleum Development Levy’s ongoing increases are unconstitutional.

The petition asked the court to declare the most recent increase in fuel prices void, claiming that it will cause another wave of inflation throughout the nation.

It is important to note that the government raised the price of fuel by Rs. 14.92 per litre, making the current price Rs. 414.78 a litre. Additionally, the cost of high-speed diesel has increased by Rs15 per litre, making the new amount Rs414.58 per litre.
