With the backing of the National Commission on the Status of Women, a three-day National Conference on Climate Change is being conducted in Islamabad.
Speaking on the second day of the conference, Federal Minister for Water Resources Musadik Malik stated that women and children are the most vulnerable and negatively impacted groups during flood disasters.
He claimed that the floods had severely damaged the lives of people in Sindh and Balochistan.
According to Musadik Malick, the administration is acting seriously to solve the issue of climate change.
Nilofer Bakhtiar, the chair of the National Commission on the Status of Women, stressed the need for various climate change mitigation strategies and made a plea for cooperation by offering a number of proposals on this occasion.
Creating the best policies possible is essential to addressing the challenge of climate change and controlling its consequences.
