The nation’s total liquid foreign reserves as of March 1, 2024, were US$13,020 million, down from US$13,038.5 million as of February 23, 2024, according to a statement from the central bank’s spokesperson.
Debt repayments have caused the SBP’s foreign exchange reserves to decrease by 54 million to 7,895.7 million. Meanwhile, commercial banks had $5,124.3 million in net foreign reserves.
According to information released by the State Bank of Pakistan earlier on February 29, 2024, the country’s total liquid foreign reserves for the week ending on February 23, 2024, were US$ 13,038.5 million, with the State Bank holding $7,949.6 million of those reserves.
According to the SBP, loan repayments during the reviewed week caused the central bank’s foreign exchange reserves to drop by $63 million to $7,949.6 million. In the meanwhile, $5,088.9 million was the net foreign reserve of commercial banks.
