The specifics state that the three SIC MPAs were exonerated by the LHC bench in the case brought under the Anti-Terrorism Act of 1997.

The three SIC MPAs were detained on March 10 while traveling to Lahore to participate in a rally organized by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) over alleged election manipulation.

antiHafiz Farhat Abbas, a member of the Punjab Assembly and SIC, was placed on physical remand for two days by an Anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Lahore earlier in the day. The case concerned shooting on the police party and destruction during the PTI demonstration over alleged election “rigging.”

The MPA was brought by the police, who demanded his physical remand. The MPA had joined the SIC after winning an independent candidacy supported by the PTI before the ATC. According to the police, the accused MPA’s custody is necessary for the course of the inquiry.

The ATC court ordered the investigators to present Hafiz Farhat Abbas on March 13 and turned him over to police for a two-day physical remand.
