Three terrorists are killed by security troops during the DI Khan operation.
Security officials said three terrorists were killed in an intelligence based operation in Dera Ismail Khan in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The action was based on intelligence about the presence of militants in the region, sources said.
Sources identified the targeted individuals as members of Fitna al-Khawarij and the operation was described as a part of ongoing operations under the Azm-e-Istehkam program to confront militant activity in the region.
Sources said security actions had helped efforts to break extremist networks in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Security forces are dedicated to rooting out terrorism from the province and will continue operations against militants, sources added.
Earlier, security forces killed eight India-sponsored terrorists in an intelligence-based operation in Dera Ismail Khan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, security sources said Sunday.
The operation was initiated on the basis of intelligence inputs about presence of terrorists in the area, sources said. The operation killed eight members of Fitna al-Khawarij, including three major commanders.
Security sources stated the militants had been found with a substantial quantity of guns and ammunition as well as foreign currency.
