The party’s leader, Nawaz Sharif, has declared that the PML-N would have its parliamentary party session in Parliament House.

Shehbaz Sharif’s candidature as the PML-N parliamentary party’s nominee for prime minister will be approved at the meeting.

It has been recommended that all recently elected PML-N members of the National Assembly show up for the meeting.

It should be noted that the NA session has to be called no later than 21 days following the election. The President has not yet called the first meeting of the recently elected lower house, despite the fact that February 29 is the last day of the constitutionally required term for the session.

Following the elections on February 8, political players endeavoured to form coalitions and obtain the crucial 169 members in the lower house of parliament, which is necessary for a simple majority.

In the Pakistan general elections of 2024, independent candidates supported by the PTI maintained their advantage over traditional political parties, particularly in the National and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assemblies.

92 seats were won by independent candidates supported by the PTI. While the PPP secured 54 seats, the PML-N secured 79 NA seats.

IPP and BNP each won two seats, while MQM-P got seventeen, JUI-F four, and PML-Q three.

Both the PPP and the PML-N established committees to determine the parameters of a coalition government in Islamabad after the general elections.

Nawaz Sharif was the PML-N’s choice for prime minister, but the party eventually had second thoughts. Later on, it put forth Shehbaz Sharif as the prime minister to head a brand-new ruling alliance.
