According to the ECP statement, two Senate seats reserved for Punjabi women will now be contested by four candidates.
The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has gained tickets for Anusha Rehman and Bushra Anjum Butt, while the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has nominated Faiza Malik, and the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has nominated Sanam Javed for the Senate seats in Punjab.
Sanam Javed’s appeal was granted by the Appellate Tribunal of the Lahore High Court (LHC), enabling her to run for the Senate.
The LHC Justice Shahid Bilal Hasan, who is on the tribunal, directed the ECP to add Sanam Javed’s name to the list of candidates running for the Senate.
