Sheikh Jaffar Mandokhail became the 24th governor of Balochistan when Chief Justice Hashim Khan Kakar of the Balochistan High Court gave him his oath of office at a ceremony at Governor House.

Speakers of the provincial legislature, ministers, cabinet members, and Chief Minister of Balochistan Sarfaraz Bhugti all attended the swearing-in ceremony.

Mandokhail was the Minister of Finance, the Minister of Planning and Development, the Minister of Education, and the Minister of Revenue in the Balochistani administration.

President Asif Ali Zardari approved the appointment of Jaffar Khan Mandokhail as the next governor of Balochistan earlier, which was a noteworthy development.

In line with Article 101 (1) of the Constitution, the president accepted the appointments based on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s advice, according to a statement released by the President Secretariat.

Following Nawaz Sharif, the leader of the PML-N, giving his permission, PM Shehbaz Sharif forwarded President Zardari a summary of Jaffar Khan Mandokhail’s nomination.

The BNP-M leader Malik Abdul Wali Khan Kakar, who was appointed to the position in 2022, was succeeded by him.

The oath-taking ceremony for Sardar Saleem Haider Khan, the nominee for governor of Punjab, has been rescheduled.

“The oath-taking ceremony for the nominated Punjab governor was postponed due to unavoidable reasons,” a PPP leader stated.
