WhatsApp has introduced several noteworthy features for iPhone users, including Pinned messages, connection health check for video conversations, and a ‘view once’ option for voice messages.
View Once audio messages
The ‘View Once’ option for audio messages takes privacy a step further. Activating this feature prevents the sharing, forwarding, copying, saving, or recording of the audio message of the recipient. This ensures that the communicated content remains exclusive and available for a single playback.
Message pinning
Available in both chats and groups, message pinning empowers users to decide the visibility duration of specific messages. The flexibility to choose between 24 hours, 7 days, or 30 days allows users to tailor their conversations. Importantly, users retain the ability to dismiss a pinned message at any time, offering dynamic control.
Connection health check
The introduction of a connection health check during video conversations is another valuable addition. By long-pressing their tile during a video call, users can now access real-time feedback on the quality of their connection, ensuring a smoother and uninterrupted experience.
The initial release of these updates has commenced for iPhone users in India, with a broader rollout expected in the coming weeks. Users are encouraged to regularly update their WhatsApp application from the App Store to access these latest features and improvements.
