The Chief Justice of Pakistan, Yahya Afridi, presided over a full court meeting of the Supreme Court of Pakistan in Islamabad.
Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah joined the meeting via video link, and all of the judges were present.
The purpose of the meeting was to evaluate how well the Supreme Court handled the institution and resolution of cases, with an emphasis on ways to ease the backlog of cases and improve judicial efficiency.
The registrar gave a summary of the cases that were pending at the moment and described the procedures for making a prompt decision.
The judges reviewed the case management plan and spoke about various ways to meet the goals of the plan. As specified in the monthly schedule, specialized two- and three-member benches were assigned to criminal and civil cases in order to guarantee prompt and efficient case settlement.
