Farooq Sattar advocates measures to bridge divide between govt, populace

MQM leader Dr Farooq Sattar has said reforms are required to bridge gap between the government and the people.

Addressing a Defence Day celebration here on Sunday, Dr Farooq Sattar said Pakistan is now going for improved economy. The administration must assure execution of measures to bridge gap between the government and the people.

He said Pakistan is honoring Defence Day to pay homage to martyrs of 1965 War, adding Marka-e-Haq was historic triumph when the entire nation became a leaden wall against the enemy.

The MQM leader emphasized that the importance of September 6 is like August 14. On this occasion, we pay honor and respect to all the martyrs of the Pakistan Army. Our heroes sacrificed their life for the freedom and defence of the country, he remarked.

Farooq Sattar claimed that for the first time, the world saw that Pakistani soldiers, without caring for their life, blocked the enemy’s goals. In Marka-e-Haq on May 10, 2025, Pakistan offered an effective reaction to Indian Rafale aircraft via current and upcoming technologies.

He stated US President Donald Trump’s count is not over yet, he has reached 10, 11.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar had a telephone chat with Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty,” a statement issued here said on Sunday.

PSX loses 175,000-point level amid selling pressure

Pakistan’s stock market entered a negative trend during the first trading day of the week, with the benchmark KSE-100 Index dropping more than 800 points to drop below the 175,000-point barrier.

The Pakistan Stock Exchange kicked off on a sour note in early trade with the index down 285 points to 174,470 points.

The KSE-100 Index had finished at 175,328 points on the penultimate trading day of the week gone by.
