Pakistan denies India’s unfounded claims about Jammu and Kashmir’s statehood.
Pakistan has unequivocally rejected the unfounded Indian statements about the status of Jammu and Kashmir, which are counter to universally acknowledged realities.
Foreign Office Spokespersons Sajjad Haider Khan said this while replying to media queries in relation to the statement published by the Ministry of External Affairs of India on the map of disputed Jammu and Kashmir territory.
“India’s unilateral actions and continued illegal occupation cannot alter the internationally recognized disputed status of Jammu and Kashmir.
The Jammu and Kashmir conflict is one of the oldest unresolved, internationally recognized disputes on the agenda of the United Nations Security Council.
“The relevant UN resolutions stipulate that its final disposition should be made in accordance with the relevant Security Council resolutions and the will of the Kashmiri people as expressed through a free and impartial plebiscite under UN auspices,” stated the official statement.
The only cartographic portrayal of Jammu and Kashmir’s current legal status is by the United Nations, which depicts it as a disputed region. The so-called official maps of India and the unilateral claims of sovereignty are irrelevant to the reality of the contested territory.
Pakistan has called upon the international community to hold India accountable for the immediate cessation of human rights violations in the Indian Illegally occupied Jammu and Kahsmir and the fulfillment of its commitment toward the realization of the right to self-determination of the Kashmiri people, in accordance with the relevant UNSC resolutions.
